The Old Milking Parlour was once an old agricultural building. Originally built around 1920, we have restored it sympathetically to its origin and have retained the old cider press that was once in regular use.

Accommodation Highlights

Converted Barn

Step inside our beautifully converted barn, and you'll immediately notice the scene is set for a captivating stay. Experience the unique charm of an historic milking parlour transformed into a 1 bedroom cosy holiday retreat, that's both private and comfortable. Maximum occupancy is 2 people.

The lounge has been designed for relaxation and comfort. Ample cushions and throws will make you feel at home. A 4 seater oak table in the dining area sits next to the cider press, giving ample room for dining in or playing some board games, affording views to the outside.
 

There is a separate shower room next to the bedroom with king-sized bed, large wardrobe, shelves and hairdryer. The bedroom provides views over the High Weald countryside. All of the accommodation is level access on the ground floor.

In the main living room there is a cosy sofa and dining area, tv with firestick and of course, the cider press. Outside you'll find the sun-trap patio and ample off road parking. The whole cottage affords a huge amount of privacy and tranquillity. 

Elsewhere, you'll find underfloor heating and flagstone floors in the fully equipped kitchen, with butler sink, a coffee machine, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer, oven and hob. Additional amenities include an iron and ironing board.

We have an outside tap, along with a covered porch, allowing you space to hang and dry coats and boots/wellies.

Whether you are seeking historic sites, coastal walks, countryside walks, vineyard tours or village visits, The Old Milking Parlour is the perfect base.

Natural Beauty

The High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is a stunning landscape that offers a wealth of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Explore the beautiful Park Woods nearby, perfect for peaceful walks and immersing yourself in nature. Just a short stroll away, you can visit Batemans, a National Trust property, once home to author Rudyard Kipling, rich in history and surrounded by picturesque gardens. Additionally, other National Trust properties are just a short drive away, such as Bodiam Castle, Sissinghurst Castle or Scotney Castle, providing even more chances to discover the area's heritage and scenic beauty. Pashley Manor, with its annual tulip festival is within a 10 min drive. 

The historic village of Burwash is just a stroll away and the infamous town of Hawkhurst is a 15 min drive.

Stonegate station is a 4 minute car journey, taking you to Charing Cross and the sites of London within an hour.
